Product Description

more colourful Decorative Door Glass , Clear Solid Glass “Zinc,” “Patina,” or “Nickel”

Beautiful doors and glass can help define a home’s character. Like fine furniture, they become an important part of the design statement. Traditional style combines clear beveled and gluechip beveled glass with brass, zinc, lead or zinc-black patina cames. Each beveled glass is hand cut and hand polished separately for maximum clarity. Each brass, zinc or lead came is individually cut, mitred, assembled, soldered and finished with genuine old-worthy craftsmanship. Energy efficient triple-glazed insulated glass improves security and helps to protect the beveled glass panel by completely sealing the finished unit.

Door Descriptions

The name under each door is more than just a way to organize our files. It gives you insights into what you get with each door…

Names like “Kallima” or “Alys” refer to the design of the glass in each door or sidelite.

“Zinc,” “Patina,” or “Nickel” refers to the finish in the glass pattern. That is properly called the “caming.”

The four digits are the dimensions in inches of the glass, so 2236 would be 22” x 36”. Sidelites are more narrow, so the sizes there are typically 8” x 48” or something similar, hence the number 0848.

Doors shown in white can be stained or painted in virtually any colour, so start imagining the perfect doors for your home!

Beauty and strength.

The decorative glass in each Kento door actually has three layers. The design is created in the middle layer, between inside and outside panes of glass to protect the delicate work while showing the pattern in beautiful accents.

Caming refers to the metal strips that bind together the pieces of glass in each design. Traditionally done in lead, this is now done with non-hazardous materials. Kento typically offers caming in patina, zinc, or nickel finishes, although just one of these may be shown for each door here.

Some door glass is silkscreened, which means the design is sandblasted directly into the glass rather than formed by joining separate pieces. Kento has a design and finish for every taste and setting.

We’re more colourful than you might think!

One of the challenges in presenting our collection of doors is that the possibilities extend way beyond the space available. Kento offers doors in every imaginable colour and style and the samples you see here will hopefully whet your appetite, but don’t let them limit your thinking. Ask your local dealer for the colours and style you want. Kento is your open door to endless design possibilities.
